Kincardine Ontario
Having Lake Huron on our doorstep offers many recreational functions, many kilometeres of sandy beaches, and on the shores of Lake Huron you can see some spectacular sunsets - in fact this part of Ontario is known around the world for it's magnificant sunsets.
The Municipality of Kincardine offers a unique package. Consisting of the Town of Kincardine, Villages of Tiverton, Underwood and Inverhuron with many businesses and agricultural land.
Our community is a great mix of young families, farming families, mature residents, retired residents and seasonal residents.
Kincardine and Tiverton offer quaint, historic and picturesque downtown areas with a variety of retail shopping establishments and lots of superb dining choices. Admire the colourful arrays of flowers provided by the many volunteers of the award-winning Communities in Bloom committee.
Economically, our muncipality has many businesses ranging from retail stores, farming, manufacturing business to our major employer the Bruce Nuclear Power Development. The Municipality of Kincardine is located in the heart of Bruce County's farmland which consists of beef, sheep, dairy and pork production as well as variety of cash crops.
Our Hospital is currently a 36 bed facility that stands in its original location overlooking Lake Huron, and is equipped with an Emergency Operating Room and Fracture Room; Decontamination Room designed to serve Ontario Hydro's Bruce and Douglas Point Power Plants (now Bruce Power), $40,000 being donated by Ontario Hydro; New Laboratory and expanded Physiotherapy and Radiology departments, the latter featuring 2 new imaging rooms and electrocardiography;
New outpatient care facilities; and renovations to original and older parts of the Hospital and retrofits to air and power supplies, medical gases and other vital systems.
Events hosted in our community range from the Fish Kincardine Salmon in May and Chantry Chinook Classic in late July - early August to Kincardine Scottish Festival in July, Summer Saturday nights Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band to play productions from our Kincardine Theatre Guild and Bluewater Summer Playhouse.
